Professional Background and ExperienceDaniel Robin is a business consultant, facilitator, and coach specializing in workplace tools for collaboration, organizational and leadership performance improvement. Mr. Robin is president of Daniel Robin & Associates (ABetterWorkplace.com), an international training and consulting firm that has helped people communicate, collaborate, and learn since 1985. Also a partner in SustainabilityWorks, a consulting firm dedicated to sustainability performance management systems and training, "translating sustainability into action."
Mr. Robin bring more than 25 years business experience to client work. He has published over one hundred articles and extensive curriculum on interpersonal communication, collaborative leadership, negotiation, handling interpersonal differences, emotions and conflict resolution in the workplace. Mr. Robin has been published in magazines, newspapers, and in the book entitled Tactical Communications (2005, Pearson Custom Publishing), and authors, "The Healthy Workplace," a widely-read San Francisco Bay Area column.
Mr. Robin is adjunct professor at Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS), Graduate School of International Policy and Management (GSIPM), and Fisher International MBA program, teaching workshops in investing, business planning, metrics and innovation for sustainability since 2007. Daniel is also managing director of In3 BioRenewables (in3inc.com), a business development and private equity placement firm linking sources of capital with qualified sustainable technology ventures commercializing clean technologies. A specialist in biomaterials, Mr. Robin has chaired conferences in bioplastics and other biobased products, keynoted and conducted seminars and moderated numerous speaker panels.
Daniel’s training and facilitation style is energetic, engaging and fun. Drawing on experience in acting, comedy writing, and public speaking, he teaches by example. Daniel brings with him a tremendous respect for people’s uniqueness. This respect provides a safe place for participants to explore, learn, and acknowledge their strengths as a firm foundation for building additional strengths.
Education
- Graduate Degrees: Bachelors in Computer & Information Science, minor in Psychology (1981), University of California at Santa Cruz; graduate studies in Marketing and International Business, U.C. Berkeley (1984).
- Communication and Facilitation: Trained in the Syntax of Effective Communication, public speaking (advanced ATM certificate from Toastmasters International), and as a facilitator of Dr. Stephen R. Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.
- Conflict Resolution: Community Board of San Francisco, psychologist Dr. Arnold Mindell, and U.C. Extension’s certificate program in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
- Professional Certification: Certified practitioner and applications trainer of NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP Comprehensive); graduate of the Coaches Training Institute of San Francisco, and ISO 14000 (UC Extension); trained in martial arts (Brazil’s Capoeira), incorporating some of these principles into workshops.
